Beste Radio, Morgen om 12.00 staan we met duizenden rebellen op de A12. Worden we verwijderd? Dan komen we de dag erna om 12:00 uur terug. En de dag daarna en de dag daarna, net zo lang tot de fossiele subsidies zijn afgeschaft. Onderzoek laat zien dat jaarlijks 37,5 miljard euro subsidie naar de fossiele industrie gaat. Dit moet stoppen. Geen geld meer voor het aanjagen van de klimaat- en ecologische ontwrichting, maar voor het dempen ervan. Dan heeft het leven op Aarde nog een kans.
We wensen iedereen die naar de A12 gaat veel sterkte. We zijn trots op jullie. Het is ontroerend om te zien hoeveel mensen zich inzetten voor het leven op aarde. Je bent niet alleen, we zijn met steeds meer mensen en we zijn aan het winnen! Het zal spannend en inspannend zijn. Let daarom goed op jezelf. Als je het niet meer ziet zitten, ga gerust weg, helemaal goed. Als je het moeilijk vindt worden, laat dat merken, er lopen veel wellbeing-rebellen rond die je kunnen steunen.
En als je niet naar de blokkade kan komen, doe mee met de supportdemonstratie. Lukt dat ook niet, probeer dan in gedachten toch bij de A12 te zijn: volg het nieuws, praat erover, laat je horen op sociale media en steun de A12-rebellen in gedachten.
Dit jaar is er nog geen dag voorbij gegaan zonder dat er mensen sterven door klimaatchaos: hittegolven, droogte, hongersnood, overstromingen, orkanen en bosbranden. Het maakt ons woedend dat alles moet wijken voor kortetermijnbelangen van een paar politieke partijen die macht belangrijker vinden dan klimaatrechtvaardigheid. Mensen in het Mondiale Zuiden, die het minst hebben bijgedragen aan de klimaat- en ecologische crisis, worden keihard geraakt, terwijl het Mondiale Noorden weigert verantwoordelijkheid te nemen voor de klimaatchaos die het aanricht. Steeds meer mensen slaan noodgedwongen op de vlucht en tegelijkertijd gooit Nederland olie op het vuur.
De tijd voor actie is dus NU. Kom daarom allemaal, niet alleen morgen, maar ook overmorgen en de dagen en weken daarna. Net zolang tot de politiek doet wat nodig is: stoppen met fossiel!
Er is geen alternatief. Extinction is forever. Stop fossiel!

Dear Radio, Tomorrow at noon, we will be on the A12 with thousands of rebels. If they remove us, we will come back the day after at 12:00. And the day after that and the day after that, until fossil subsidies are stopped. Research shows that 37.5 billion euros of subsidies go to the fossil fuel industry every year. This has to end. No more money to speed up climate and ecological disruption, but to dampen it! Then life on Earth will still stand a chance.
We wish everyone who will be heading to the A12 the best of luck. We are proud of you. It is touching to see how many people are committed to life on earth. You are not alone, there are more and more of us and we are winning! It will be exciting and strenuous again. Therefore, take good care of yourself. If you are feeling down, feel free to leave, that’s totally fine. If you experience difficulties, let it be known, there are many wellbeing rebels walking around who can support you.
And if you can’t come to the blockade, join the support demonstration. If that doesn’t work for you either, try to be at the A12 in your thoughts anyway: follow the news, talk about it, make yourself heard on social media and support the A12 rebels in your thoughts.
Not a day has gone by this year without people dying from climate chaos: heat waves, drought, famine, floods, hurricanes and forest fires. It infuriates us that everything has to give way to short-term interests of a few political parties that value power over climate justice. People in the Global South, who have contributed the least to the climate and ecological crisis, are being rocked, while the Global North refuses to take responsibility for the climate chaos it is creating. More and more people are being forced to flee and at the same time the Netherlands is provoking this.
So the time for action is NOW. Therefore, come all, not only tomorrow, but also the day after tomorrow and the days and weeks after that. Just until politicians do what is needed: stop fossil fuels!
There is no alternative. Extinction is forever. Stop fossil fuels!
